The host country for the Gulf Defense & Aerospace exhibition is The State of Kuwait which is a sovereign Arab emirate situated in the northeast of the Arabian Peninsula. It is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the south and Iraq to the north and lies on the northwestern shore of the Persian Gulf.

Kuwait is a member of The Gulf Cooperation Council [GCC] which was established in an agreement concluded on 25 May 1981 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia between: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE.
